Research interests
Born a Wisconsinite, I grew up in Racine until 2002 when my family moved to La Crosse. In addition to Wisconsin, I also spent multiple summers in the village of Platy, Imathias, Greece living with my grandparents. Being heavily influenced by the driftless region and Greece, and wanting to better understand the world around me, I pursued a B.S. in geography and environmental science from UW- La Crosse where I graduated May 2018. During my undergrad I participated and conducted multiple research projects where I discovered a love for remote sensing and image analysis. Having always wanted to better understand wildlife behavior, this developed into a yearning to apply geospatial tools to study wildlife distribution, abundance, and migration patterns to aid in wildlife conservation and management.
Currently, I am pursuing a masters in Wildlife Ecology and am a research assistant in the SILVIS and Zuckerberg labs focused on combining remote sensing with a citizen science program, Project FeederWatch, to research accipiter hawk's colonization of urban environments.
