Research interests

Landscape and wildlife ecologist, broadly interested in impacts of global change on ecosystems and biodiversity, with a focus on avian responses to land use and land cover change. Research integrates field-based surveys with remote sensing data using innovative quantitative and spatial modeling techniques. Current projects include impacts of shale gas energy development (i.e., fracking) on forests and migratory birds in the central Appalachian region, as well as development of novel remote sensing habitat indices for biodiversity applications.

Personal interests
