Research interests
My study concentrates on waterfowl diversity and conservation of habitat in the wetlands of Northeast China, especially focusing on the relationship between the population dynamics of cranes with hydrological conditions. I try to find a balance between the water requirements of waterfowl habitat (hydrological connectivity and area) and human activity. GIS and remote sensing are excellent tools to help me to complete these tasks. While visiting the SILVIS lab, I want to learn and apply these tools in my studies and to get a broad scale understanding of waterfowl habitat and their affected factors. I hope my studies can contribute to better conservation and restoration efforts.
Personal interests
I am interested in many sports that make me strong and healthy: playing badminton, running, swimming, skating, traveling and playing football. I also like cooking Chinese food at home for my family and friends. I enjoy watching movies especially those related with nature conservation.
