Research interests

I’m interested in leveraging advances in satellite and computing technology to help us take better care of our planet. My most recent work focused on mapping methane emissions from malfunctional oil and gas infrastructure in the Permian Basin. During my time in the SILVIS lab, I hope to locate emerging hotspots of the Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI) in sub-Saharan Africa and explore relationships between the WUI and the spread of invasive tree species.

Personal interests

If the temperature is above 0oC, you can usually find me outside – walking, running, swimming, biking, kayaking, camping or just watching the world go by while drinking large cups of tea. I love to explore new places. I also enjoy reading, experimental cooking, crosswords, and listening to opera – especially in the winter months.
